Welcome.
My Comprehensive Art Workshops are specifically designed to acquire new creative skills, with a focus on well-being, social connectivity and mindfulness. Skill levels of each workshop can be as low or as high as preferred and are entirely flexible.
My aim is to give participants the self confidence to have a go, and to simply enjoy the process of being gently guided, in a relaxed group setting, no matter the skill level.

Workshops are generally of 2 hour duration – fundamentals of medium and subject are taught throughout each workshop, and adapted to age and ability.
30 minutes may be added after 1 hour at facilities’ discretion, for tea, coffee or lunch break.
Maximum number of 25 participants per workshop, space allowing.

Materials will be included in the final cost.

Cancellation Policy
If class, tuition or workshop is cancelled more than 10 days before the booked date, 40% of above fee applies.
If class, tuition or workshop is cancelled 10 days or fewer before the booked date, full fee is required to be paid.

Step by Step ‘Paint with the Teacher’ and Guided Workshops
Wonderful Watercolours
A basic introduction to watercolour paints and what they can do – for all ages and stages – using a variety of tools and mediums to create special effects with this beautiful medium.
Amazing Leaves/Beautiful Botany
Draw and Paint Botanicals. Participants explore watercolour techniques and choose leaves or various botanicals provided in the workshop to sketch and paint.
Create a Watercolour Galaxy
A step by step guided workshop using a few special effects and various tools.
Charcoal, Chalk Pastel and Conte 101
A simple follow the teacher workshop to introduce beginners to the beauty and wonders of charcoal, conte or chalk based pastels.
Kandinsky on Acrylic Paper or Canvas
A super simple introduction to abstract painting – children and adults really tune in to colour and shape to paint a Kandinsky inspired abstraction using music to inspire.
Mondrian on Acrylic Paper or Canvas
Focusing on shape, line and colour participants paint a modernist, Piet Mondrian inspired picture with colours of their choice.
A Garden of Blue Banded Bees
Uses various techniques to introduce to participants the amazingness of what watercolour can achieve. Great for beginners!
Pointilism Georges Seurat style
Participants discover the beautiful science of colour using artist George Seurat's techniques for inspiration.
Completely Mindful Workshops
Learn to Draw 101
A great Mindfulness workshop for those who require a total introduction to drawing, we look at basics using some invaluable techniques. Super interesting ways of training your brain to really ‘see’, not just ‘look’. Follow on workshops available for this subject.
Koi Fish in Watercolour
A truly peaceful workshop where we learn to paint beautiful Koi fish, symbolic of love and friendship in Japan, using the 'dropping in' watercolour technique.
Dandelions with Special Effects
A wonderfully simple introduction to watercolour and some interesting tools for a take home finished picture.
Transformative Trees
A workshop showcasing the amazingness of trees…. a few facts, silhouettes and drawing, culminating in a gorgeous canopied view of a copse of trees the participants complete in Gouache.
Birch Trees in Watercolour
Paint birch trees with a credit card! Participants are shown a specific process to obtain textural effects and are introduced to watercolours.
Thinking Green & Up-cycling Workshops
Basket Weaving or Stitched and Coiled Baskets
Using hand sourced weeds or introduced species to make a beautiful coiled basket or woven basket. Also many other weaving or sculptural projects available; Miniature Herb Brooms (great for gifts, culinary uses. Native or dried Herbal Hanging Frames for the kitchen or other space. We use fresh materials which will then dry for a more permanent, biodegradable sculpture.
Recycled Fabric Wreath Making
We use strips of recycled fabric to make a visually stunning wreath, this is a very simple, soothing workshop.
Wreath Making With Natural Materials
Always a popular workshop especially at Christmas time, participants make a wreath using native and introduced materials. Note: many other themed wreath workshops are available, for example rosemary wreaths for ANZAC day, or herb wreaths for the kitchen, rosemary broomsticks, or miniature wreaths…
Paper Jewelry Making
Participants make paper beads and sculptural forms from various recycled papers into wearable or decorative art.
Eco-Dyeing using the Hapa Zome Technique
Make stunning botanical prints by pounding flora onto paper and fabric …..two for one in this workshop!
Willow Orbs or Woven Hearts with Willow
Using an introduced tree which can choke up our waterways, we create amazing hanging orbs or weave a precious willow heart to hang on a wall or door. Great workshop to repurpose an invasive species.
Swedish Rag Rug
Travel back in time to when fabrics were expensive and recycling was necessary. This Swedish Rag Rug technique is extremely satisfying and is an age-old craft which requires no experience, yet gives back to the participant practically and mindfully. Participants weave a rug from recycled cloth or clothing.
Pine needle basketry, felting, bookmaking are all other ideas you may have for your next workshop. I can adapt to various themes or celebratory/commemorative days as well and am happy to discuss.
